VGP Italy consolidates its presence in Emilia Romagna with the fifth hub in the area: the 50,000 m² state-of-the-art project has been leased to the company Mutti

Milan, 6 December 2024 – VGP NV (“VGP” or ‘the Group’), a leading company in the industrial and logistic real estate sector, announces the start of works for the new VGP Park Parma Paradigna, the Group’s fifth in Emilia-Romagna and the second in Parma. The hub, strategically located a few kilometres from the city centre and the A1 motorway, will be the new logistics centre of Mutti S.p.A., Italian excellence and European leader in the tomato derivatives market.

With a covered surface area of approximately 50,000 m², the VGP Park Parma Paradigna will be an example of territorial integration and environmental sustainability, developed in line with the highest international standards of energy efficiency and quality.

A project serving the territory

The new VGP Park Parma Paradigna is inserted in a strategic and dynamic urban context, with the aim of enhancing the area. Located in Via Paradigna, just 7 km from the city centre and less than a kilometre from the motorway tollgate, the project envisages the realisation of a series of interventions that will benefit the surrounding area.

The logistics park will include an important infrastructural work: the opening of a new section of via Versailles, which will directly connect via Colorno to via Paradigna, improving accessibility and optimising road connections. Acoustic barriers will also be installed to reduce noise impact.

Environmental sustainability will also be ensured through the construction of environmental mitigation works, with the transfer of land to the Municipality of Parma. New green areas will be developed on these areas, planted with native trees and shrubs, which will contribute to improving the local ecosystem along the railway and motorway axis.

Innovation and sustainability at the core

The VGP Park Parma Paradigna has been designed to meet the highest standards of sustainability, combining advanced technological solutions and an approach geared towards reducing environmental impact. The entire complex will be built to achieve the prestigious BREEAM Excellent certification, recognised internationally as a benchmark for building sustainability.

The adoption of a photovoltaic plant of around 1 MW will generate clean energy, promoting the use of renewable sources and reducing CO2 emissions. Thanks to the use of energy-efficient infrastructures, the park will optimise consumption and ensure the rational management of resources. Particular attention will be paid to rainwater management: the newly designed solutions will ensure safety and sustainability even in the areas downstream of the high-speed railway line.

VGP wants to consolidate its presence in Emilia-Romagna with a project that combines industrial excellence, sustainability, and attention to the territory. The collaboration with a historic brand like Mutti, ambassador of Italian quality in the world, is a reason for great satisfaction for VGP, because this new hub represents a strategic investment for the city of Parma and the entire Emilia-Romagna region. As always, VGP has a close collaboration and synergy with the local authorities for the enhancement of the economic and environmental fabric.
