Düsseldorf, 14 February 2023 –VGP NV (“VGP” or “the Company”), a European owner, operator and developer of high-quality logistics and commercial real estate, announces the win of Rhenus Warehousing Solutions as an anchor tenant for its VGP Park Magdeburg-Sülzetal for the period of ten years. The logistics service provider will move into around 73,816 m² of commercial space. With this, the VGP Park in Magdeburg-Sülzetal is fully let.

The park is close to major motorways, the A2, which connects the north with the western part of Germany and other European countries (Netherlands – Hanover – Berlin – Poland), and the A14 motorway, which connects Hanover with Leipzig. The location is less than 10 km from the city of Magdeburg. Magdeburg, with more than 240,000 inhabitants and two universities, offers a highly qualified workforce.

In addition to its high building standards, the approximately 300,000m² park offers easy access to the city centres of Halle and Leipzig as well as a complete technical infrastructure directly on site. In addition to the extensive warehouse space, Rhenus also rents office, social and technical areas as well as car and truck parking spaces. The VGP Park Magdeburg-Sülzetal aims for certification according to the DGNB Gold Standard.

Darius Scheible, one of VGP’s two Managing Directors for Germany, comments on the new lease: “We are very pleased that we have been successful in attracting such an important and renowned logistics company as an anchor tenant for the VGP Park Magdeburg-Sülzetal. Our park in Sülzetal is thus fully let.”

Sven Weichbrodt, Member of the Rhenus Management Warehousing Solutions Germany, says: “Magdeburg is one of the most important industrial centres with a long tradition in eastern Germany. By leasing the new logistics property, Rhenus is strengthening its activities in Saxony-Anhalt and thus decisively expanding its network of locations for production, industrial and trade logistics along the A2.”

The VGP Group has 39 locations in Germany and is operating in seventeen European countries. In total, the family-owned company based in Antwerp, Belgium, operates 108 parks in Europe.
