Prague, 4 May 2022: VGP, the European developer and owner of semi-industrial and logistics real estate, has acquired a new tenant for its logistics park VGP Park Kladno in the Kladno-východ industrial zone. In taking this step, the Danish company Kvadrat, a leader in interior design with a focus on the production of fabrics, carpets and other textile products for architects, designers and end-users worldwide, is making its entrance to the Czech market. Towards this end, it has leased a total of 11,250 m2 of production and warehouse space, together with administrative facilities. The new hall will be built on the BREEAM Very Good green certification level and will be put into use this year in June. CBRE, a real estate consultancy company, is intermediating the deal for the tenant.

“The entry of another renowned company into the domestic market once again confirms how Czech logistics real estate is currently thriving. The interest for locations close to the larger city centres remains strong with limited quality supply. VGP Park Kladno benefits from its location just 1 kilometre from the city centre of Kladno and at the same time just 15 km from both Prague and Václav Havel International Airport Prague,” comments David Plzák, VGP Country Manager for the Czech Republic.

Kvadrat was founded in Denmark in 1968. It prides itself on design that is based upon the world-famous Scandinavian tradition. It produces highly durable designer textiles, carpets, window coverings and acoustic solutions for commercial and residential interiors while working with leading designers, architects and artists.

“Finding available industrial and logistics space in the vicinity of the metropolis is almost a miracle these days – even more so if you are looking for a tailor-made project. Kvadrat only required a stand-alone hall of approximately 10,000 m2. We consider it a real success that we were able to secure an ideal space meeting all its requirements. The following negotiations themselves were very quick: to everyone’s satisfaction, we signed an exclusive lease agreement within a month,” comments Ivana Watson, Industrial and Logistics Real Estate Consultant at CBRE.

VGP Park Kladno is a newly emerging complex with premises suitable for industrial, logistics and commercial activities. It has a total lettable area of more than 25,000 m2. The main advantages of the location include transport accessibility. The park is connected to route 61 in the direct vicinity of the D7 motorway connecting Prague with Kladno (Exit 7). Moreover, Kladno is known for its industrial tradition and high-quality workforce. It is the largest city within the region, together with the adjacent catchment areas having more than 110,000 inhabitants.
