Kecskemét, November 26, 2025 – VGP, European owner, manager and developer of semi-industrial and logistics real estate, has completed the first building of VGP Park Kecskemét II, welcoming its first tenant, the Chinese-owned Fuyao company, which is establishing a new manufacturing unit in Hungary. The 25,000 m² facility will operate an automotive glass assembly, meeting the highest standards of modern technology and energy efficiency. With the opening of its second park in Kecskemét, VGP further strengthens its presence in the county centre. VGP Park Kecskemét I opened in 2021 and has been operating at full capacity, hosting 11 partners in a total lettable area of 210 000 m².

As with VGP’s other developments, sustainability is a key focus of this project. The building is designed without gas infrastructure and operates entirely on electricity, with the infrastructure in place for the installation of a solar panel system. The parking area is equipped with electric vehicle charging stations, and the site features a rainwater harvesting system to support environmentally conscious water management.

Fuyao Group founded in Fuzhou, China in 1987, is a prominent actor in the OEM industry, developing integrated solutions for the design, development, manufacturing, supply and related services of automotive glass and automotive accessories. The Group now has a number of modern production bases and business units in 18 provinces and cities in China and together with the Hungarian facility, in 12 foreign countries.

Among the facility’s special features are its extensive office space, dock doors positioned at a 45-degree angle, and enhanced power capacity tailored to the energy demands of manufacturing operations. As most of the building is situated at ground level, VGP has reinforced the soil load-bearing capacity, and at the tenant’s request, canopies have been added to the loading areas. The project aims to achieve a BREEAM Excellent environmental certification, demonstrating a high level of sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental responsibility.

VGP Park Kecskemét II is located in the city’s southern industrial zone, approximately 5 km from the M5 motorway, a key transport route toward Southeastern Europe. The region’s main employer is Mercedes-Benz, alongside numerous other automotive industry suppliers and service providers. The park is situated near the Mercedes plant and benefits from high-quality infrastructure and excellent access to public transport.

VGP is committed to sustainability and energy efficiency across all its commercial real estate developments. The company sets carbon reduction targets for each new project in line with the Paris Agreement, ensuring its properties comply with stringent BREEAM standards and the EU Taxonomy environmental objectives. Through VGP Renewable Energy, the company supports the transition to green energy by offering tenants sustainable energy solutions such as photovoltaic systems, electric vehicle charging, and smart energy management.
