VAT
When VAT dreamed of a space to innovate, we laid the foundation.
On 21,000 m², VGP Park Arad provides VAT, a leading provider of high-performance valves, with the precise tools to thrive in today’s high-pressure environment. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the facility was fine-tuned to live up to the company’s Swiss seal. With its strategic positioning near the A1 motorway, it is calibrated to serve VAT’s pan-European value chain.
Challenge
Built for valves and values
VAT approached VGP with an ambitious double challenge.
At VGP Park Arad, VAT required us to excel in our favorite balancing act. Their specialised production and R&D facility was supposed to serve both as a precision manufacturing base and a people-centric campus. This implies synthesising advanced technical infrastructures and modern office spaces, all while fulfilling long-term sustainability targets.
Concretely, that meant fine-tuning the production area for vacuum valves through guaranteeing zero pollution both on the inside and the outside. To ensure this critical input for semiconductors, photovoltaics, displays, and advanced research can be provided, the project had to be delivered while not losing sight of employee amenities.
Meeting global deadlines through local backing
In line with our shared ambitiousness, this built-to-suit solution underscoring VAT’s rapid growth did not settle for less than meeting highest international standards for quality, environmental performance, and workforce well-being. Therefore, VGP had to facilitate close cooperation with local authorities, infrastructure providers, and public stakeholders. This collaborative approach of aligning VAT’s private investment with regional development priorities was critical for meeting our client’s time-sensitive global production commitments as it ensured fast-track execution of permits.
VGP's Response
VAT’s global triangle, now anchored in Arad
The Arad project demonstrates VGP’s role as more than a landlord, acting instead as a proactive partner able to translate VAT’s ambitious requirements into a future-ready industrial hub. Today, VGP Park Arad anchors VAT’s finely tuned global triangle of facilities in Switzerland, Malaysia, and Romania. Regular coordination sessions between VGP and VAT paid off as they maintained execution reliability and yielded precision in technical design, infrastructure installation, and operational readiness.
Construction has been completed on schedule, and VAT’s new facility in VGP Park Arad now stands as a strategic cornerstone in the Group’s global expansion. The built-to-suit campus includes key features such as enhanced load-bearing floors, tailored zones for CNC turning technology and dedicated cleanroom-compatible spaces. Of course, this is all accompanied by modern office and collaboration spaces and employee-centric amenities.
Maximum standards, minimum impact
Translating maximum demands into minimum-pressure space, the facility aims for BREEAM Outstanding certification. Therefore, it integrates a variety of measures. All construction materials were sourced responsibly. High-performance insulation and LED systems ensure low operational energy intensity, smart building controls and water management including rainwater harvesting add resource efficiency. Going forward, the rooftop readiness we delivered for future photovoltaic installations complements these efforts.
