VGP welcomes two new tenants to VGP Park Zvolen (Slovakia): Bufab and SpedDKa
16th of May 2024, Bratislava: VGP, the developer and owner of semi-industrial and logistics real estate, has just handed over newly completed premises in Hall “C” at VGP Park Zvolen to two different tenants. Bufab Slovakia, which is one of the largest suppliers of fastening materials and special components, be these bolts, nuts, screws or customer-unique parts, has leased 2,500 m2 of warehouse and administrative spaces. The second tenant is SpedDKa, a specialist in freight forwarding and logistics, which has leased a total of 3,000 m2.
With its range of sustainability and energy-efficient solutions, the hall aspires to the internationally recognised BREEAM Excellent certification. At first glance, one cannot miss the extensive green roof, which is planted with a variety of grasses, mosses, and herbs. It brings a whole range of benefits, not only to the project itself but also to the surrounding area. These include supporting the local biodiversity, reducing the carbon footprint, and effectively insulating and improving the indoor microclimate. Regular watering is done with rainwater, which is captured and then reused for other greenery spread throughout the site. Meanwhile, preparations are being made for photovoltaic panels on the building, which will be used to heat water meeting the needs especially of back-office staff. The park also includes electric vehicle chargers and practical stowage for bicycles.
Building “C” is the first completed and fully occupied hall at the VGP site. It will be shared by the new tenants Bufab Slovakia and SpedDKa together with Packeta Slovakia, which had moved in previously and utilises 2,500 m2 of warehouse space there.
Bufab Slovakia is part of the Swedish Bufab Group, which boasts a long tradition and experience in the fasteners and components segment. It supplies its products to 70 countries worldwide, including within Slovakia itself. “As part of our long-term sustainability goals, we are looking for business partners who share our DNA and vision for the future. This is also why we decided to partner with VGP, and we firmly believe that our co-operation will be mutually beneficial in fulfilling these commitments,” comments Vojtech Halveland, Managing Director at Bufab Slovakia.
SpedDKa is a professional logistics company operating in Slovakia and in the Czech Republic under the name Špedka CZ Solutions s.r.o. The first area in which it is active includes freight forwarding, dispatching, and vehicle unloading in freight transport. With a wide network of carriers and an experienced team of professionals, it is able to provide efficient and secure transportation of goods throughout Europe. Its second activity area includes the provision of comprehensive warehousing services. Utilising modern warehousing facilities and inventory management systems, it ensures the storage of goods for partners, whether this be to supply retail chains or fill end-customers’ orders. "Our main objective is to provide high-quality logistics services that help clients improve their supply chain and achieve their business goals. The strategic location in VGP Park Zvolen is absolutely ideal for the further development of our business," describes Michal Durbák, CEO at SpedDKa.
VGP Park Zvolen is situated on the north-western border of the city less than 1 km from the R1 motorway connecting to Bratislava. The city is considered a strategic transit point in Slovakia, its potential being enhanced by the nearby Sliač airport. Altogether, three halls with total lettable area of 52,000 m2 will be built at the VGP site consisting of 10.2 hectares in total area. The location is in close proximity to the Continental tyre plant as well as to an existing retail and logistics zone. Therefore, the site already has excellent transport accessibility for all potential employees from the surrounding area.
