Barcelona, May 11, 2021. VGP, a pan-European provider of high-quality logistics and semi-industrial properties, announces the delivery of a cross-docking warehouse and office to DIA at VGP Park Valencia Cheste. DIA is the first tenant to relocate to the new park in Cheste’s Circuit Business Park, in the surroundings of the A-3 and A-7 in Valencia.

DIA's new warehouse, which covers a floor space of 4,740 m2, supports the merchandise distribution in the northern Levante region. From there, the company supplies 46 shops in the cities of Valencia and Castellón. Following the acceptance of the project in November 2020, the building was fully adapted to the specific requirements of DIA, which moved into the facility in mid-March. VGP was advised in the transaction by Inmoking.

"At DIA we are in the middle of a reorganisation process to consolidate a solid logistics network adapted to the current and future needs of the company. The cross-docking warehouse that VGP has placed at our disposal allows us to reinforce the logistics needs of the northern Levante area. Its advanced technology and facilities will undoubtedly help us to fulfil our activity and to respond in time and form to customer demands, getting closer to them every day", has stated Manuel Desantes, regional director of DIA in Levante.

"We are very pleased to welcome DIA to our logistics park in Valencia. The quality and sustainability features of the building - recognized with the BREAAM Very Good certificate - and the excellent connection with the main road networks and the city of Valencia, have been decisive for its recent move to the modern business park of Circuito de Cheste", explains Joan Lacosta, CEO of VGP Spain.

A new logistics and industrial center of reference in Valencia

VGP Park Valencia Cheste is located 18 km away from Valencia’s city center and 14 km away from Manises airport. Furthermore, the Park is situated beside the Ricardo Tormo Motorcycle Circuit in Cheste and the A-3 motorway (Valencia - Madrid). The area where it is placed has great dynamism, both in terms of consumption and labor. Furthermore, it is a strategic location, close to the third largest Spanish agglomeration with nearly two million inhabitants.

On a total land area of ca. 113,100 m2, VGP Park Valencia Cheste will offer a total lettable area of more than 66,000 m2 divided over three buildings. All buildings will be BREEAM Very Good certified.

Sustainability and energy efficiency are key parameters for the commercial properties developed by VGP. The company has already launched and implemented numerous initiatives. These include the launch of VGP Renewable Energy, a new separate business unit wholly owned by VGP N.V., to use the available roof space on VGP parks for photovoltaic installations and modern energy technologies. The company has set itself the goal of certifying all new buildings with BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) Very Good certification, and has committed to implementing further measures in the coming years as part of its sustainability strategy to become climate neutral by 2025. In 2019, the VGP Foundation was also established.
