VGP leases 49,000 m2 in VGP Park Olomouc to HELLA group, a manufacturer of lighting technologies for the automotive industry in Moravia
Prague, 28. April 2022: VGP, the European developer and owner of semi-industrial and logistics real estate, has signed two lease agreements with HELLA AUTOTECHNIK NOVA. The company is one of the largest employers in the automotive industry within the Czech Republic, specialising in development and production of lighting technologies and electronics for such prestigious brands as Volkswagen, Audi and BMW. HELLA has leased in total more than 49,000 m2 of warehouse space in VGP Park Olomouc: 10,000 m2 is available from November 2021 in the already completed hall “I” and another 39,000 m2 will be available in the new hall “F” which aims for at least the Very Good rating under the BREEAM green certification with an emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability and that is under construction. The latter will be handed over to the tenant for use in fourth quarter 2022.
HELLA AUTOTECHNIK NOVA has been operating in the Czech Republic already since 1992 as a subsidiary of the German group HELLA, a world leader which has a tradition dating back more than 120 years. The company employs here more than 3,000 people and specialises in producing and development of headlights and taillights and lighting technologies for vehicles of the world’s largest automakers. In addition to its headquarters in Mohelnice, the HELLA operates also in the nearby town of Loštice, where part of its IT department is located, and in the Science and Technology Park in Ostrava, where the company’s technical centre has expanded as the company has gradually developed.
VGP Park Olomouc is located in close proximity to the city of Olomouc, at exit 37 of the R46 expressway, and with excellent connections to Brno, Ostrava, Hradec Králové, as well as surrounding countries. Its position in the centre of Moravia places it together with Přerov and Prostějov into the so-called industrial triangle. The VGP complex covers nearly 48 hectares and offers 213,800 m2 of lettable space suitable for logistics or light manufacturing.
