New logistics hall at VGP Park České Budějovice completed for Dachser

Press Release

15th November 2023, Prague: VGP, the European owner, manager and developer of semi-industrial and logistics real estate, has handed over brand-new premises to Dachser Czech Republic at VGP Park České Budějovice in the Czech Republic, situated in the Světlík commercial zone. The just-completed hall D covers 14,000 square meters and was tailor made for this international provider of logistics services as a further expansion of its existing premises in Hall C, which cover more than 9,000 square meters. It will be used primarily for contract logistics. The building aspires to a BREEAM Excellent green certification.

“We managed to complete the hall in a very short time, which in all respects meets Dachser’s stringent demands for safe and efficient operation of their specialised warehouse. It has ten loading docks and two access ramps, stores up to 25,000 pallets, and is equipped with high-rise racking having rack sprinkler technology making it possible to store even some of the more demanding products that require extraordinary care in handling,” comments David Plzák, VGP Country Manager for the Czech Republic, adding: “At the same time, we have incorporated a whole range of environmentally friendly solutions into the project, such as preparation for the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof of the building, heat recovery, water-saving devices, and LED lighting. Furthermore, we are working on planting native vegetation in the surroundings and overall cultivation of the site.”

International provider of logistics services Dachser Czech Republic moved its České Budějovice-based branch to VGP Park České Budějovice last year, and this is now its fastest growing branch in the Czech Republic. It currently employs about 60 people, with 20 additional jobs to be created with the new hall.

VGP Park České Budějovice lies right on the outskirts of the city in the Světlík commercial zone. With excellent transport links to the city centre and direct access to the D3 motorway connecting Prague and Linz in Austria, the location is ideal for logistics and light manufacturing. The complex on a 37-hectare site should include altogether 7 halls with a total lettable area of over 130,000 square meters. Construction of the park also includes the reconstruction of a cycling path and revitalisation of a nearby pond to support local biodiversity and water retention in the landscape.
