VGP hands over keys to Logifrio and Sam’s at the new VGP Park Montijo
Montijo, 26 June 2025 – VGP, the pan-European developer, manager and owner of high-quality logistics and semi-industrial real estate, officially marked yesterday the handover of the VGP Park Montijo to two of its tenants: Logifrio and Sam’s. This milestone signals the start of operations for both companies at the new logistics park, further strengthening VGP’s presence in the Greater Lisbon region.
Located on the National Road N5, in the municipality of Montijo, VGP Park Montijo stands out for its strategic location, with direct access to the A33 and A12 motorways, close proximity to Lisbon and the airport, and excellent connectivity to the main national logistics corridors.
With a gross lettable area of 32,532 m², 51 loading docks and 12 metres of clear height, the park was fully pre-let before construction was completed.
Logifrio, the national leader in cold chain logistics solutions, occupies 13,000 m² of the premises. This new hub includes five dedicated refrigerated “Box in Box” storage areas, ranging from 800 m² to 2,800 m², developed with the internal technical support of VGP to ensure a bespoke solution tailored to Logifrio’s operational needs.
Sam’s – Soluções em Alumínio e PVC – writing its history since 1998, will occupy 10,000 m² at the park. The company is commencing operations at Montijo focused on the production of all types of aluminium and PVC frames. It is also preparing to announce new developments soon, always guided by its founding values and principles.
The remaining tenants, JK Alloys and Spraga, will also be establishing their operations at VGP Park Montijo later this year. JK GLOBAL, with an established presence in the Americas and now expanding into Europe, will occupy 5,000 m² of the new Montijo complex. Specialising in the production of inoculant alloys and cored wire for foundries and steelworks, the company is known for innovation and quality in metallurgical supply solutions. The new facility strengthens its strategic presence on the continent and will optimise distribution while expanding service capacity across European markets.
Spraga, a company dedicated to the production and commercialisation of kombucha in the European market, is expected to take over the final 5,000 m² by September. These diverse tenants highlight the versatility of the park and its ability to accommodate a broad range of industrial and logistics profiles.
This is VGP’s third logistics park in Portugal, following VGP Park Santa Maria da Feira and VGP Park Loures, the latter focused on last-mile logistics. VGP continues to strengthen its footprint in the country with a portfolio of innovative logistics parks focused on quality, customisation and sustainability.
Sustainability is a core pillar of VGP’s strategy. VGP Park Montijo is currently undergoing BREEAM Excellent certification and features photovoltaic systems for renewable energy generation. The site also benefits from resource-efficient management practices and sustainable landscaping solutions, all aligned with the group’s environmental commitments.
