To support our expansion in Portugal, we are looking for a:

Site Manager – Presential - Lisbon

Under the direction of the VGP Portugal, this position assists the Development department. We are seeking a Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of construction sites for logistics and industrial park developments. The Site Manager will be responsible for contractors’ management on site, ensuring that the project is executed efficiently, safely, and according to the project specifications. The role requires leadership, technical expertise, and strong coordination skills to manage site activities.

Our minimum requirements

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Education & Experience:

  • Site Foreman or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in site management, particularly in logistics, industrial park construction, or similar large-scale commercial projects.
  • Experience managing both contractors and direct labour.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of construction processes.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Ability in using software tools, particularly AutoCAD and Design software’s.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and experience in enforcing safe work practices on site.
  • Communicative and Energetic.
  • Resilient and Motivated.
  • Good team player.
  • Good level of English will be appreciated.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with logistics and industrial park development projects.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to site management.

As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for on site project management. Its tasks include:

  • Site Supervision & Management:
  • Lead and manage all site operations coordinating contractors, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Ensure that the construction process progresses smoothly and that the work is completed safely.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Oversee and enforce safety protocols in compliance with legal requirements and company standards. Regularly inspect the site for safety hazards and ensure the proper training of staff and contractors on safety procedures.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor the quality of work at all stages of the project. Ensure that materials, workmanship, and installations meet the required specifications and industry standards.

Project Coordination:

  • Act as the main point of contact between contractors and suppliers. Ensure that all parties are aligned with project goals and timelines.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, daily logs, and issue tracking. Report regularly to the Project Manager on the progress and any issues on site.

Problem Solving & Troubleshooting:

  • Proactively identify potential issues and delays and develop solutions to keep the project on track. Address and resolve conflicts or disputes on-site in a timely manner.
