Park LeipzigThe Europe-wide real estate group VGP is investing in the development of two industrial parks in eastern Germany. VGP has already built a park in Borna which was completed in 2015, and building of the new industrial park will begin in the nearby city of Leipzig. In addition, the industrial park of Berlin will be developed further. Both parks will be located near their respective cities, with optimal transport connections to both motorways as well as local airports. In total, VGP is to develop and operate 13 parks across Germany.

Building Begins at VGP Park Leipzig – High-Value Industrial Real Estate

The building work for the first of the five buildings began in April. An industrial hall of approximately 26,000 m² will be created in an area of 105,000 m² directly by the Leipzig trade fair location. VGP is to invest over 10 million euros in this project, and by the end of October this year Hall 1 will be finished, which will ideally be suited to SMEs with light production. This building could also serve the purpose of being a showroom. Office and administration spaces are also able to be planned according to the needs of future tenants. Small and medium-sized enterprises will have the opportunity to rent small units of up to 1,000 m2.

VGP Park in Berlin to Expand

By the autumn of last year, shortly after its completion, the entire premises of the first hall at the VGP Park in Berlin had been leased (around 22,000 m²). On the basis of such high demand for leasing space in the first block, VGP decided it would build a second block. It will be double the size of the first. Upon its completion, the park will consist of over four halls with a gross lettable area of 103,300 m². The spaces will be suitable for logistics service providers and companies with light industrial production, and will additionally be able to offer room for office space. The park is located around 36 km south of the city centre and 30 km away from Schöneberg airport.

VGP PArk Olomouc Hnevotin G2 web largeZele (Belgium), 1 March 2016 – The Europe wide active real estate group VGP ( and the property investment and asset manager Allianz Real Estate ( have agreed to start a 50:50 joint venture with a total transaction value of over 500 million euro. In the joint venture, the financial assets of the projects developed by VGP in Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary will be pooled. The logistic and semi-industrial real estate portfolio is to be continually expanded and support VGP’s growth in the long term. The joint venture will only acquire projects developed by VGP exclusively.

Ginsheim small webThough it is one of the smaller properties in the VGP portfolio and has a total area of just 65,000 m², the property at Ginsheim-Gustavsburg is nonetheless an excellent new location. The direct connection to highway BAB 60 and 671 and close proximity to the international Rhein-Main airport ensures optimum accessibility to the area. VGP plans to develop a new logistics centre comprising a total area of about 32,000 m² at the site.

The development property „Ginsheimer Str. 10 / Lange Streng 1“ lies east of the German city of Mainz. It is located only 15 minutes by car from the airport and a 15-minute walk from the train station Mainz-Gustavsburg, which offers connections to Frankfurt, Mainz and Wiesbaden.
